Another family from Martaize, and already related to several other Martaize famlies before they all emigrated to Acadia. Guillaume Blanchard (born 1590?) married Huguette Poirier (born 1594?) at La Chaussée in 1610. Their son Jehan or Jean Blanchard was born about 1611 (he was 60 at the time of the 1671 Acadian census) and emigrated about 1640. In 1642 he married Radegonde Lambert (who was probably half-Micmac; see Lambert). They lived near Port-Royal (where all their children were born) but later at Beaubassin, where both died. Their children: Madeleine (1643, married Michel Richard dit Sansoucy; our ancestor by his second wife; see Richard); Anne (1645, married François Guérin and then Pierre Gaudet dit L'Aîné); Martin (1647, married Marie-Françoise Leblanc, sister of our ancestor Pierre Leblanc); Guillaume (1650, married Huguette Gougeon); Bernard (1653); and Marie (1656, married Pierre Gaudet dit Le Jeune). See Guérin for Anne's descendants.
