Crête

or Creste

Adrien Crête and his wife Denise Barre were both born around 1520, and lived in the parish of St-Langis, Mortagne(above); many other French-Canadian families originated there too. It is likely that they were related to the immigrant Jean Crête (son of Antoine) from nearby Tourouvre, but he was born a hundred years later. When Adrien died in 1582 in St-Langis his age was recorded as 62. Denise also died there, in February 1571.

The only child we know of is their daughter Raoulline, born in the 1550s and married to Jean du Baril (also of St-Langis) in April 1574. Their daughter Julienne du Baril was the wife of the early immigrant Marin Boucher.
