Cronier sometimes Crosnier or Grosnier |

Marie-Martine Cronier and her sister Marie-Jeanne were both filles du roi, coming to Québec together in the summer of 1669. They were the daughters of Pierre Crosnier and Jeanne Rotreau (or perhaps Nectiau) of Fontaine-le-Bourg, just north of Rouen in Normandy (photo above). Jeanne married François Magnan (not related to our Magnan ancestors, as far as I can tell) in Québec city on September 30, 1669; her sister Martine married about a month later (November 18) - to Philippe Destroismaisons of Chateau-Richer. Martine died February 9, 1713, age 68, in Rivière-du-Sud, so she was probably born in 1645. Her husband died in the same month. See Destroismaisons for her descendants. |
