Baril

or du Baril

Jean du Baril and his wife Raoulline Crête (married in March 1574) ived in St-Langis in the Mortagne at the beginning of the seventeenth century. We know nothing about his ancestry; he died at St-Langis in September 1610. His daughter Julienne married our immigrant ancestor Marin Galeran Boucher on February 7, 1611, and they had seven children, but Julienne died (1622) before Marin, his second wife and their children came to Nouvelle-France. Only one of the seven lived to make the voyage: François Boucher (born November 22, 1617 in St-Langis, and thus 16 when he arrived in Québec; see Boucher for descendants).
