David Feillard worked as a miller in the village of Tourouvre in the Mortagne in the last half of the sixteenth century. His parish church, St-Aubin, is pictured above. We know nothing about his ancestors, but the family of his wife Mathurine Navarre is documented for several generations back. David died in 1611, and his wife sometime after that. We know of two daughters: Antoinette, who married the miller Thomas Goulet of nearby La Poterie, and whose son Jacques emigrated to Québec; and our ancestor Jacqueline, who married Odouard Lambert of Tourouvre and was the mother of Aubin Lambert dit Champagne, who emigrated in 1662. See Lambert for descendants. Aubin's great-great-great-granddaughter was Louise Boucher Martin. |
