Hervé

Marguérite Hervé was the wife of Bertrand Lalongé. They lived in Lignan-de-Bordeaux (a village near the port of Bordeaux) in Gascony, and were married sometime in the 1660s, presumably in the parish church (pictured above, in a postcard from about 1900). I have been able to find nothing more about her ancestry. There were other Hervé families in Québec, but they came from the area around Blois, several hundred miles from Lignan.

Marguérite was the mother of the immigrant Bertrand-Pierre Lalongé (born 1669), who settled in Lachenaie in the 1690s. See Lalongé for descendants.
