Lalongé

dit Le Gascon

Bertrand Lalongé and his wife Marguérite Hervé lived in the village of Ligen, near Bordeaux, in the mid-seventeenth century. We know of only one child: Bertrand (1656-1736), who came to Québec in the 1790s and was married to Anne Éthier at Repentigny on April 17, 1697. (The church is called La Purification-de-la-Bienheureuse-Vierge-Marie de Repentigny; photo above).

There were seven children: Pierre (1698, married Jeanne Drapeau); Marguérite (1700-1785, married Jacques Roy); Jeanne (1705, died young?); Joseph (1717, died young); another Joseph (1708); Augustin (1713, married Marie-Josette Coleret); and Jean-Baptiste (1729-1730).

Marguérite and Jacques Roy were the parents of Jacques Roy (c1730-1762), paternal great-grandfather of Louise Boucher Martin.
