Jacques Leblond and his wife Françoise Nollien lived in the small Norman port of Honfleur, where they were married probably in the early 1630s. We know of one son, Nicolas, born in 1636 and baptized at the church of Nôtre-Dame-de-Grâce (above, painted by Guy-Orlando Rose). Nicolas emigrated to Québec in or about 1660, and on October 13, 1661 he married Marguérite Leclerc (daughter of Jean Leclerc and Perrette Brunel) at Château-Richer. They had seven children (birth order uncertain) Catherine (c1666-1753, married Jean Rioux); Jean-Baptiste (married 1702 Cécile Rocheron, 1703 Thérèse Letourneau [3 children] and 1711 Marguérite Amaury [2 children]); Joseph (married 1706 Catherine Drouin); Marie (1674-1729, married 1691 Pierre Martineau); Marie-Madeleine (see below); Martin (married 1704 Anne-Françoise Bissonnette, 5 children); and Nicolas (married 1696 Louise Baucher, 2 children). Marie-Madeleine Leblond was probably born about 1670 in Château-Richer, and married Nicolas Roy or LeRoy on November 18, 1686 at Ste-Famille on the Île d'Orléans. See Roy and Filteau for descendants. |
