Confusingly, we are descended from two men named Jean Leclerc who both lived in the St-Rémy parish of Dieppe (above) at about the same time (as well as from still another Jean Leclerc, from the Touraine). This Jean married Perrette Brunel (parents of both unknown) on July 21, 1630. We know of two daughters: Anne (born c1645), a fille du roi, who married Vincent Chrétien in 1668, and Marguérite, who was baptized at St-Rémy on February 12, 1640 and emigrated to Québec in 1660 - evidently alone; she was not a fille du roi. It does not appear that their parents emigrated. Marguérite married Nicolas Leblond at Château-Richer on October 13, 1661. They had seven children (see Leblond). After Nicolas' death she married Jean Rabouin in 1678 and had two more daughters. |
