Jean-Baptiste Normand and his wife Catherine Pageot lived in Sens, where they attended the cathedral church of St-Étienne (above). Jean-Baptiste was dead before 1670. They were married probably in the early 1640s, and had at least two daughters: Marie-Madeleine, born in August 1646, and Catherine, born in May 1644. Both girls became filles-du-roi, but seem to have come to Québec city at different times: Catherine by the summer of 1665, and Madeleine in 1669. Catherine married Pierre Normand dit Labrière (probably a relative, though from a different town, St-Martin-du-Vieux-Bellême). Our ancestor Marie-Madeleine married Alphonse Morin dit Valcourt on February 10, 1670 at Québec city. She died in Montmagny on April 27, 1690. See Morin for Madeleine's descendants.
