Verrier

Catherine Verrier, a fille du roi, came to the Île d'Orléans in the summer of 1669, and married Pierre Rondeau; see Rondeau for descendants.

She was born about 1648 in Courtils, a village on the bay of Mont-St-Michel. (The photo above shows the monastery as seen from Courtils.) Her parents were Jean Verrier and Agnès Briquet. On arrival in Canada she signed a marriage contract with Julien Talua dit Vandamont, but it was quickly annulled and ten days later she married Rondeau (September 30). Her death date is not known.
